The Crucifix started life as a short story for an anthology. While writing it, I felt that a short story didn't do it justice. I wrote the story as I wanted it to be, and it became a novella.

My first solo published title. I am very proud of The Crucifix; it has been described as gripping and a great read.

It is about a Pastor who has to retire from the church because of his disabilities. Mason has fibromyalgia and arthritis. I wrote into the story real things that have happened to myself as a sufferer of fibro, such as cutting a thumb on the back of a strip of tablets. I hoped to show how these things can happen, but that a disability doesn't define you as a person.

However, what certainly hasn't happened to me, is running a church from home made up from followers from the church where he previously was pastor. Without giving too much of the story away, the congregation over time become a cult following Mason's strong personality. They find out about some prisoners being released into the local community and decide to stop their risk of reoffending. Permanently...

Various methods of killing, all inspired by the Bible, are decided upon. The story culminates in an explosive ending.

Famously Ordinary

Like The Crucifix, Famously Ordinary also started life as a short story and became a novella.

However, Famously Ordinary was the first short story that I wrote. The anthology that it was written for never materialised, but I knew it was too good to discard.

It came from a kernel of an idea; what would it be like to see life through someone else's eyes?

I once met a person called James Dean, many years ago, and I always wondered what it must be like to share a name with a famous person. This thought was combined with the idea, and Famously Ordinary was born. This book has been very well received; on Amazon it has an average 4.5 star rating!

This book is ebook only as it is a quick read; I am delighted to say that it is now also available in audiobook format.
